Potato futures up 2.07 pc on pick-up in physical demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 9: Potato futures moved up by 2.07 per cent to Rs 940 per quintal today on increased spot demand against restricted arrivals from producing regions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in April rose by Rs 19.10, or 2.07 per cent, to Rs 940 per quintal, with trading volume of 11 lots.

Potato for delivery in March also moved up by Rs 3.70, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 943 per quintal, with a trade volume of 61 lots.

Analysts said increased demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up potato prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
