Poswal meets Home Minister

SRINAGAR, July 2: Eshfaq-ur-Rahman Poswal, National Executive Member, ST Morcha, BJP today called on the Union Home Minister here and demanded political reservation to tribal community besides establishment of the separate Tribal Belt Force.
In a statement Eshfaq said that the Tribals in the State of J and K are the part and parcel of the society and with the earnest measures taken by the Union Government; the coalition Government has established a Tribal Ministry in the State.
The BJP leader along with the seven members delegation while meeting the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh apprised him of the problems pertaining to the tribals of the State at large, saying the community hopes that its woes would end during the present regime at the Centre as well as in the State.
“In a bid to provide them succor, it is a known fact that Jammu and Kashmir is a place which has a huge potential for pilgrimage tourism. The new spots can be explored in the State wherein Yatra can be performed by devotees with the earnest hope. With such a measure taken, the people can be associated with it so that the issue of unemployment could be addressed along with the historic measures to revive the cultural and religious ethos in the society,” Eshfaq said.
A detailed memorandum was also presented to the Home Minister in which it was stated that likewise the CRPF, Tribal Belt Force may be constituted. “Tribal community knows the mountainous regions the most and to end militancy, it would be appropriate to assign them the task of securing the regions of the State from the menace of terrorism.”
