The poor performance by Indian atheletes in almost every discipline in Rio Olympics is quite disappointing. It was expected that this time players would bring a rich haul of medals for the country. But that did not happen. Former renowned athelete Milkha Singh has expressed his deep disappointment at the outcome at Rio Olympics. He has lashed out at the Indian Olympics Association for poor performance of the Indian sportspersons.
One wonders why India fails to compete at international level every time. Some players participating in the games have expressed their disappointment on not providing kits and coaching of international standard. The countrymen have to listen this complaint after every international event comes to an end.
This in other words means that no special attention is paid to sports sector in the country. If the standard is falling, it means that something is wrong with the sports policy in the country. The Sports Ministry in the country must wake-up to this concern at the earliest.
