JAMMU, Mar 23: The deteriorating BSNL Mobile Phone and Internet services have irked the valuable customers of the Company since yesterday in Jammu city and some other parts of the region.
In northern part of Jammu city, the situation was more worst as in view of the poor connectivity the customers were not able to make calls or even receive the same. Even repeated call drops became the cause of headache for them. Not only during last evening but today afternoon also, the same problem was faced by the BSNL Mobile phone users. Even after making repeated calls the customers were unable to connect with the desired number.
The hapless customers had to use other mobile networks to make some urgent calls. This process continued for about three to four hours in the afternoon and then it improved after long time. Some officials at Sub Division Office, Janipur claimed that due to damage caused to Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) at two places near Muthi and another location in Roopnagar by digging, the broad band/ internet and even landline services were affected on Wednesday. The company has taken cognizance of the matter.
General Manager Mobiles, BSNL Jammu, Ajay Karara when contacted said that there was fault in the system yesterday due to damage caused to the OFC but that was rectified by the staff after some time. He said today, there was no such complaint received from any where. He, however, assured that he would check up with the subordinate staff and try to restore service in case of any break up.
