Poonch youth nominated for National Youth Icon Award

JAMMU, Sept 15: International Youth Committee (IYC) has selected Muzaffar Ahmed, a resident of village Sangla, tehsil Surankote of district Poonch to receive prestigious “National Youth Icon Award 2019”.
Muzaffar is founder of “Public Peace and Development Foundation”– a youth-led Non-Governmental Organization working for the education of conflict affected children and youth at the Line of Control in Rajouri and Poonch districts.
He got selected among the 30 youths from over 800 applications from South Asia. The award ceremony will be held on September 27 at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, Janpath Road, New Delhi, India.
Previously, Muzaffar has been working with NYKS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Aports as National Youth Volunteer (NYV) in 2017 and 2018. Presently, he is working as “Global Peace Ambassador India” with Global Peace Chain.
Furthermore, he was a delegate in ‘South Asian Youth Conference 2018′ (Mumbai), International Conference on Youth Specific Sustainable Development Goals 2018’ (Chennai), ‘Happy Move-Global Youth Volunteer India-Korea Cultural Exchange 2019’ and India International Science Festival 2017.
