Poonch Brigade organizes ‘Aman Jyoti Peace March’

POONCH, Nov 20: To celebrate 66th Poonch Link up Day, the local Army unit today organized ‘Aman Jyoti Peace March’ for school children under the aegis of Poonch Brigade.
Every year the ‘Poonch Link up Day’ is celebrated with gaiety and fanfare. The ‘Aman Jyoti Peace March’ was organized as part of pre-Poonch Link up Day activities, to commemorate the historic link up carried out at ‘Dana Ki Pir’ on November 21, 1948.
To spread the message of peace and non violence, approximately 300 children from various schools and madarsas, marched through the streets of Poonch town. The enthusiastic children held placards and banners in their hands to raise awareness on important of peace, equality, non violence and independence.
The march was flagged off by the religious heads of different religions of Poonch exemplifying solidarity and unity in diversity. The peace march started from Poonch Stadium and culminated at the Natu Auditorium where closing address was delivered by the Poonch Brigade Commander.
The event was graced by a member of civil and military dignitaries.
