College teachers apprise Secy Education of demands

JAMMU, Nov 20: A delegation of College Teachers Association, led by its president (Jammu Wing), Dr Sanjay Verma, called on the Secretary Higher Education Department, Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh and discussed various issues of the college teachers.
The CTA particularly raised the issue of SRO-124 and explained that the teaching fraternity was getting adversely affected vis-à-vis implementation of this SRO in the present form. It is very difficult for many teachers to fulfill the conditions as laid down in the SRO-124, the delegation added.
The Association also demanded additional increment on placement from lower AGP to higher AGP, issuance of the order for placement of teachers in different higher grades, extending benefits of SRO-222 to the college teachers, etc.
The Secretary gave a patient hearing to the delegation and agreed in principle that all the demands would be given positive consideration.
The delegation comprised of Prof M S Saini, Prof D S Manhas, Prof Narayan Dutt, Dr Anil Ganjoo, Dr Sunil Gupta, Prof Hans Raj, Prof Manohar and Prof Surinder Sharma.
