Politicising suicide

Sir,
This has reference to the news item ‘Ex-Serviceman commits suicide’ DE Nov.3.
It was quite painful to read that an ex-serviceman had to commit suicide over the OROP issue.
However more painful than this was politicisation of his death by various political parties in the country. It has become customary for these parties to exploit every issue for their vested interests. These parties always remain on watch to find such an opportunity. Instead of expressing sympathy for the victims, politicians in India want to settle political scores. Whether it is surgical strikes, MP jail break or the present suicide case, every issue has been politicised. Though public knows this gimmickry, it still gets swayed by the political drama. With the result, the issue in question gets entangled in blame game, and as has been seen, loses its importance in the course of time.
Instead of milking the issue, it should be everybody’s effort to let it reach its logical conclusion.
Yours etc…
