Policeman succumbs to gunshot injuries

JAMMU, Nov 20: A policeman, who had allegedly shot himself over some family issue at the official residence of the Director General of Police (DGP) here, today succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.

Head Constable Subash Chander was on duty at the official residence of the DGP at Bikram Chowk when he allegedly attempted suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle at around 10:30 AM on Monday, a police spokesman said.
“The policeman was rushed to GMCH by his colleagues, but he succumbed to his injuries today at about 11:45 AM”, he said, adding his body was sent for postmortem.
