Police works out theft case, arrests snatcher with accomplice

SAMBA, Apr 30: Jammu and Kashmir Police has worked out a theft case registered at Police Station (PS) Samba affecting the arrest of two thieves and have recovered stolen items from their possession.
Police said a written complaint was lodged at Police Station (PS) Samba by one Bandana Devi, wife of Subhan Singh of Chani Mansar, district Samba, regarding snatching of her Gold chain with locket outside the gate of GDC Samba by an unknown masked man.
Acting swiftly on the complaint, a case FIR No. 113/2024 U/S 382 IPC got registered at Police Station (PS) Samba and investigation was started, police said.
Police said during the course of investigation, different teams were constituted led by DySP Hqrs and SHO PS Samba followed by raids at different places leading to the arrest of two persons namely Abhishek son of Dewan Chand of Sultanpur district Kathua and Jatinder Verma son of Subash Chander of Bagial, district Kathua in the instant case after hectic efforts and they were put to sustained questioning. Further on their disclosure, stolen golden items were also recovered from their possession. Investigation of the case is going on, police added.
