POONCH, Jan 1: The district police took out a public-friendly awareness rally in the city and motivated the people to remain vigilant and contact police immediately in case of any incident of crime against women or if general crime occurs any part of the district.
SSP Poonch, Shamsheer Hussain led the awareness rally while several senior and junior police officers besides other ranks and lady-constables participated. During the rally the policemen also held corner meetings in various localities of Poonch city and sought cooperation from the public. They asked the people to join police in fighting against the crime against women and inform SSP, Police Control Room or SHO/ Police Station on phone immediately.
They said the eve-teasers around colleges, schools, tuition centers will be dealt with severe hands. Police men and women in civil dress will be deployed at various places to keep check and act promptly in case of any such incident. They asked the public to contact SSP directly at Telephone No. 220408, SHO or Police Station at 220225 or Police Control Room at 100 or 220258 numbers. The flying squad will rush in soon. In case of any delay or negligence on part of policemen, the public should contact SSP directly. The citizens have appreciated the police move and hoped it would come up to the expectation of general public.
