Police to take action against individuals indulging in anti-national activities: DGP

SRINAGAR, Sept 28: Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh said that police has to take action against the individuals who are indulging in anti-national and anti-social activities with minimum collateral damage.
He stated this while interacting with police personnel during his visit to District Police Lines Srinagar, here today.
DGP said that District Police Srinagar which is looking after the policing of the capital city has faced huge challenges in last 30 years and has surmounted all the challenges valiantly adding that urban policing is challenging but Srinagar police personnel and officers have succeeded in their efforts.
He said that police has given hundreds of sacrifices and at the cost of their personal comforts and sacrifices it has been trying to provide safe security environment to the people.
He said that over the years the J&K Police has been strengthened by providing the latest weapons and other requirements but there are still certain areas where we need to augment upgrade pool our resources.
DGP said that the State and the Union Government increased the remunerations of the SPOs which is a huge step for better in living condition of the SPOs and their proposal approved in quickest possible time. With regard to the welfare of the officers, he said that Non-Functional Scheme has been implemented for the batch of 1999 JKPS officers and will be implemented for other officers as well.
DGP also listened to the grievances of the personnel with regard to welfare, housing and assured that more positive steps will be taken in this regard.
Vidhi Kumar Birdi, DIG CKR assured the DGP that the district will continue to work with professionalism for the service of the people.
Earlier, in his welcome address Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, SSP Srinagar gave a brief resume of the work and the functioning of the District Police Srinagar.
The interaction was also attended by Zonal SPs, AIG (Welfare/Comm) Manoj Pandit and Principal Private Secretary to DGP Sham Lal Thakur.
