MENDHAR, May 4: The police today seized record from the office of Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) and store -keeper Mendhar and started investigation into the pilferage of 296 bags of sugar, rice and atta from the CAPD store at Mendhar the other day.
SSP Poonch J S Johar today visited Mendhar and reviewed case pertaining to recovery of CAPD ration from the private shops in Gurasai area of Harni block. Three persons including a CAPD Salesman has already been arrested in this connection. The storekeeper has also been detained while TSO has gone underground. SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Choudhary is supervising the investigation.
The SSP directed the SDPO and SHO to conduct thorough investigation and book all the employees and others if they were found involved in the pilferage of public ration. The police has also seized the first truck which sped away before the police raid. The public has appreciated the police action and demanded strict action against the accused officials.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director CAPD, Poonch has started departmental inquiry into the matter. The minister for CAPD Ch Zulfkar has said that all those found involved in the scandal will be terminated as such people have not place in the department.
