KATHUA, Nov 29: Acting against illegal mining within the district, Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal today seized one truck and one tractor along with trolley indulged in illegal transportation of construction material in the jurisdictional area of Police Station (PS) Kathua at Pandori and Berrian Pattan Naka point.
Police said on Monday a team headed by Inspector, O P Chib, SHO PS Kathua under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Shammi Kumar during patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area at Berrian Pattan Naka seized one truck indulged in illegal mining. While in second instance police led by Sub Inspector, Ravinder Thakur in charge Police Post (PP) Nagri under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Kathua, Shammi Kumar during naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area at Pandori area seized one tractor along with trolley indulged in illegal transportation of construction material. Both the vehicles were seized and immediately handed over to the officials of Geological and Mining Department Kathua for further legal proceedings.
