Police seek help in identifying culprits involved in DySP’s lynching

Srinagar, June 30: Police today sought help in identifying the culprits involved in lynching of DySP Mohammad Ayoub Pandith last week at Jamia Masjid in summer capital here.
The DySP, who was on access control duty at Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta was cornered by an unlawful assembly of people and was lynched on the night of Shab-e-Qadr, a police spokesman said.
“In this regard a case under Section 302 RPC was registered and investigation was taken up. To speed up the investigation process, a special investigating team was also constituted,” he said.
To nab all culprits involved in the incident, the head of special investigating team has requested that if anyone having any knowledge/clue regarding the incident may attend the office of SP, City North Srinagar or call on 0194-2453214, 9419140715 and 9596770664, the spokesman said.
He added that the name and particulars of the person/persons will remain confidential.
