JAMMU, Dec 6: Panic gripped students and teachers at Delhi Public School here on the Residency Road, Jammu, after an unidentified caller threatened to blow up the institution today.
The threat call, however, turned out to be a hoax call as police and bomb disposal squad didn’t find anything during a search operation launched in the school premises.
As per sources, a teacher of the school approached police, claiming he received a threat call from an unidentified person, who threatened to blow up the school.
Soon after receiving the information, a police team, accompanied by Bomb Disposal Squad, and other security forces, reached the institution and launched a search operation as students and teachers remained in the school.
However, the call turned out to be a hoax as the search party didn’t find any explosive material in the school.
Taking cognisance of the matter, police have registered a case under the relevant sections of the law and started further investigation.
A police spokesperson wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Jammu Police acted swiftly on bomb threat by an unknown caller to one private school. Police conducted extensive search and sanitised area. The threat turned out to be hoax and FIR has been registered”.
