Police rescues 3 ladies trapped in flash floods

KATHUA, July 5: Kathua police rescued three ladies who were trapped in flash flood of Ujh river late last night.
Police said during the intervening night an information was received through reliable source that some ladies were stuck in the flash flood due to the heavy rainfall in the hilly areas as a result of which the Ujh river was in spate probably at Rajbagh and its adjoining areas near Chabbe Chak Village.
As per input these three ladies visited early in the morning and got stranded in the flood. They included Shakuntla Devi, 45 wife of Joginder Paul , Shallu Devi, 18, daughter of Joginder Paul and Anju Bala wife of Des Raj all residents of Chabbe Chak village, district Kathua.
On the directions of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal a team of Rajbagh police led by Inspector, Bopinder Singh SHO swung into the action and with the team of SDRF who immediately reached on the spot rescued the ladies.
