KATHUA, Apr 6: Police today registered a case against the people indulged in illegal mining from river Ravi in Keeriyan Gandial area.
An official spokesman said that, on some inputs, field staff of Flood Control Division found six vehicles illegally excavating/ digging the nallah in unplanned manner and without prior permission from the Flood Control Department.
The illegal mining was stopped by the field staff and a case against the defaulters was registered with Lakhanpur Police Station.
