SRINAGAR, May 13: Police today recovered a minor boy who was missing since Friday and arrested the kidnapper in Sopore town of Baramulla district.
A Police spokesman said that Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from one Ghulam Rasool Sofi, a resident of Sopore stating that his minor nephew (name withheld) was kidnapped near Shalimar Colony on Friday during evening hours.
He said on receipt this information, Police Station Sopore swiftly registered a case and started investigation.
“After strenuous efforts, the kidnapper identified as Shaheen Hassan Bhat, a resident of Rebban Sopore was arrested and taken into Police custody for further investigation. It is pertinent to mention here that the minor has been allegedly sodomized by the kidnapper. After completion of medical formalities the minor was later handed over to his family,” he said.
