UDHAMPUR, Dec 11: In a continued effort to streamline vehicle ownership records and prevent misuse of vehicles running without mandatory documentation, District Police Udhampur today carried out a special checking drive across the district.
During the intensified enforcement campaign, police seized 20 vehicles and issued 26 challans to owners for failing to transfer ownership despite having purchased the vehicles.
Special nakas and checking points were set up at major locations including Udhampur, Rehambal, Kud, Chenani, Ramnagar, Majalta, Panchari, Basantgarh, Latti, Tikri, Roun Domail, Sudhmahadev and other prominent areas.
Territorial officers closely supervised the drive to ensure strict action against violators.
