SRINAGAR, May 5: Police today intensified inspections of medical shops across Srinagar under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir” campaign.
A police spokesperson said the drive aims to ensure strict compliance with drug laws, especially the NDPS Act. Shops were checked for sale records, stock registers, and whether medicines are being sold only with valid prescriptions. “Medical shops were thoroughly checked for compliance with particular emphasis on verifying sale records and ensuring medicines are dispensed strictly against valid prescriptions,” the spokesperson said.
He added that the shopkeepers were also warned against selling restricted drugs without prescriptions and asked to report any suspicious activity. ” Police remain committed to tackling drug abuse and urged the public to share information about illegal drug activities,” he said.
