JAMMU, July 27: Dr Meenakshi Kotwal, Medical Superintendent, Police Hospital Jammu, today celebrated the Raising Day of the institution.
During the celebration ceremony, sweets were distributed among the doctors, para-medical and the office staff of hospital.
A plantation drive was also carried out in the premises of the hospital with the assistance of J&K Forest Department. During the drive, a high-quality hybrid fruit plant was planted.
Pertinently, Police Hospital Jammu started functioning as a dispensary way back in 1964 with one pharmacist and one nursing orderly. By 1980, a Medical Officer was posted in the institution.
This dispensary was later upgraded to the status of a 20-bedded hospital on July 27, 1969. Ever since, the hospital is providing services to the serving/retired police personnel and their family members round-the-clock.
