JAMMU, Apr 18: Addl. Director General of Police, V.K Singh today said that the Police Headquarters will be soon digitized and the process will be started in the phased manner.
He said this while convening a meeting to review the arrangements for the digitization process.
ADGP held threadbare discussions on switching over to paperless functioning of the Police Headquarters. He said the digitization will not only streamline the entire working by having digital access to the crucial records but also facilitate expeditious deliverance.
The executives and software professionals of M/s C-DAC Thiruvananhapuram, M/s Oracle Gurgaon, M/s Rational Tabs Technologies Pvt. Ltd and M/s Cyborg Network Communication, assigned to digitized the records, gave a detailed power point presentation and responded to the queries of the participants.
The experts briefed the officials about the significance of digitization of police working and emphasised on security aspects of the records. They said that the database to be created over a period of time will be held at various wings of the organization effectively.
The ADGP said by carrying out automation as per the vision of the Director General of Police, the overall objective of having paperless working will a chained. “This will also make the redressal mechanism effective,” he added.
The ADGP said the proposed automation of the Police Headquarters will be first of its kind across the country and hoped the objective will be achieve by synergy between various wings of the organization.
Those present in the meeting includes IGPs – Sunil Kumar and J.P Singh, AIGPs – Mohammad Haseeb Mughal, Javaid Ahmad Koul, Sheidk Junaid Mehmood, Mubassir Latifi, Sameer Rekhi, Kulbir Singh, Sr. Admn Officer, PHQ Nasir Ahmad Khan and various police officers of PHQ.
