Police foils bovine smuggling bid, rescues 23 animals

SAMBA, Apr 24: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, Samba police has successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle bovine by rescuing 23 bovines after arresting three bovine smugglers near forest area of village Chandli in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
Acting on a information received from the residents of village Chandli regarding smuggling of Bovines via forest area of village Chandli, a Police team of Police Post (PP) Goran rushed to the spot and arrested three bovine smugglers moving without permission towards Kashmir Valley on foot with a herd of 23 cattle .
The accused persons identified as Majid Ahmed son of Ramzan Ahmed and Shamas Din son of Mohammad Hussain both residents of Chanori Samba and Mazid Ahmed son of Khamid Ali of Talai, Samba have been arrested on spot. All the bovines were rescued and shifted to safer place.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 128/2021 U/S 188 IPC stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
