SAMBA, May 7: Police today claimed they have foiled a bovine smuggling bid in Samba district by rescuing 15 animals from the clutches of two smugglers, who have been arrested.
A police official acting on specific information, a team of Police Station Mansar arrested two individuals from Mansar naka after they failed to produce the documents required to transport the animals.
Accordingly, the accused, identified as Manzoor Ahmed of Bindpera, tehsil and district Samba and Arif Hussain of Kali, tehsil and district Samba, were booked in case FIR number 109/2026 under section 223 of the BNS registered at Police Station Samba, and further investigation taken up, the police official said.
According to him, 15 animals were rescued from the clutches of the smugglers.
