JAMMU, Apr 29: A police constable was arrested along with around 1.5 kilograms of charas from Roop Nagar area, falling under the jurisdiction of Janipur police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Janipur police station headed by SI Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Shri Ram Ambarkar laid a naka near Roop Nagar and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number PB02AV-5193.
During checking, police recovered around 1.5 kilograms of charas and arrested the motorcyclist who happens to be a police constable posted at police station Banihal.
The accused has been identified as Rajesh Singh, son of Bhim Singh of Pallanwala, tehsil Akhnoor.
A case under FIR number 90/14 under 8/20/21 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Janipur and investigation started.
