Police attaches HM operative’s property

SRINAGAR, May 15: Police today attached the immovable property of a proclaimed offender linked with the banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as part of the ongoing crackdown on terror networks and anti-national elements.

A police spokesperson said that the action was taken in connection with FIR No. 02/2008 registered at Police Station Panzalla under Section 2/3 of the E&IMCO Act against Ghulam Mohammad Bhat alias Hyder of Rohama Rafiabad.
The spokesperson said that the accused had illegally crossed over to Pakistan-occupied Jammu Kashmir for arms training and was presently operating in coordination with the Hizbul Mujahideen network from Pakistan.
Police attached land measuring six marlas at Daengrut Rohama and 10 marlas at Reshinar Rohama in coordination with the Revenue Department, the spokesperson said.
According to police, the accused had been evading arrest for a long time and was declared a proclaimed offender by the court under Section 88 CrPC. The attachment was carried out after completion of legal formalities in the presence of Revenue officials and witnesses.
