Police attaches drug peddlers house in Rakh Barotian

SAMBA, Apr 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Police has attached the house of a drug smuggler in Samba district today, the officials said.
They said as a part of its relentless effort against drug peddlers/smugglers, Samba police has attached a single storey residential house valuing about Rs sixteen (16) lakh belonging to notorious drug peddler namely MohdYounis, son of Noor Alam of Rakh Barotian tehsil, Vijaypur, district Samba.
The action was taken by police under Sections 68-E read with 68-F of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIRs 203/2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act of PS Vijaypur FIR No. 204 /2021 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act also of PS Vijaypur.
Officials said the residential house was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.
This operation reaffirmed the commitment of Samba Police to combat the drug menace, officials said.
