Police arrests drug peddler, seizes 5.7 grams of heroin

SAMBA, Apr 2: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba Police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Bari Brahmana and recovered 5.7 grams of heroin (Chitta) from his possession.
Police said acting on an information received through reliable sources, a team of police headed by SHO Police Station (PS), Bari Brahmana intercepted a car bearing Registration Number JK19-0754 near Lane Number 15 Bari Brahmana for its checking. During checking, 5.7 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of driver of the vehicle.
The drug peddler identified as Deepak Sharma, son of Ganesh Dass of Ambaran tehsil, Akhnoor district Jammu has been arrested and contraband item has also been seized.
The arrest was made by a Police Party under the supervision of SSP Samba Virinder Manhas.
A case FIR No 50/2025 U/S 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari Brahmana and investigation started.
