Mortar shell found in Samba village, defused

Samba, Apr 2: A live mortar shell was discovered in a field in Darui village of Samba district on Wednesday, triggering a swift response from security forces.
According to reports, a farmer, Ashish Chaudhary, son of Sat Paul Chaudhary, spotted the old shell while working in his field and immediately informed the police.
Accordingly, the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrived at the scene and secured the area.
A bomb disposal squad was also called in, which safely removed the shell and defused it at a secured location.
Meanwhile, authorities have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated further action into the matter.
