SAMBA, Oct 7: Continuing its drive against drug smugglers and peddlers, Samba police has arrested a drug peddler in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh and recovered 5.39 grams heroin like substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh while performing naka duty at Kajyal chowk, intercepted a motorcycle without registration number for checking which was coming from Koulpur side towards Ramgarh. During checking, 5.39 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of the rider.
Police said the drug peddler identified as Amarjit Singh, son of Rajesh Singh of Sherpur, tehsil Hiranagar, district Kathua has been arrested. The contraband item and the vehicle have also been seized.
It said a case FIR No 75/2025 U/S 8/21/22/2025 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Ramgarh and investigation started.
