Police arrests 2 in theft case

SRINAGAR, June 1: Police today solved a theft case by arresting two accused persons and recovering 137 litres of stolen diesel from their possession.
Authorities stated that Police Station Pampore had received a complaint from Mohammad Younis Shah, a resident of Khankahbagh, Pampore.
In the complaint, it was alleged that on 31/05/2025, some unknown persons had stolen diesel from a truck (registration number JK13F-3017) that was parked outside the complainant’s residence.
Accordingly, a case under FIR No. 65/2025 was registered at Police Station Pampore under relevant sections of law, and an investigation was launched, police said.
During the investigation, a police team under the supervision of SHO Pampore used modern techniques, including analysis of CCTV footage from various locations.
Police said that the investigation led to the identification of two accused persons: Happy Kumar, son of Devindar Kumar, and Lucky Kumar, son of Devindar Kumar, both residents of Bada Dowlatpora, Pathankot, Punjab.
“Subsequently, both the accused were arrested, and approximately 137 litres of stolen diesel were recovered from their possession. Further investigation is underway,” police said.
