DODA, Nov 27: Police and Army today busted a militant hideout and recovered arms, ammunition and war like stores from Gallu forest in Gandoh.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Mohammad Sharief Chouhan said that based on specific inputs, a joint operation was launched by Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) and Rashtriya Rifles Battalion based at Dharmund of Delta Force in Gallu forest in Gandoh tehsil and busted a militant hideout with the recovery of cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores.
He said that the area is rugged, forested and contains number of potential hiding places and hideouts.
The busting of a well concealed hideout resulted in recovery of one Baretta pistol along with three magazines, two magazines of AK-47, one magazine of 7.62 mm SLR and around 502 rounds of assorted ammunition, SSP added.
Recovery of this cache shall result in defeating the nefarious designs of the terrorists of derailing the peace and stability of the region, the SSP said.
