JAMMU, July 30: The chairman of SOS International, an organization of PoK Displaced Persons (DPs), Rajiv Chuni today claimed that DPs will teach lesson to some hostile political parties in next elections.
Addressing a meeting of displaced persons at Rehari here today, Chuni said that hostile political parties should not keep any hope from the DPs in next elections. These people have now decided to show their actual place to these parties in next polls. He said various political parties had been using these people as their vote bank and used to make false promises, but now they all were exposed with the passage of time.
“PoK DPs have now recognized those political parties who used to claim themselves PoK DPs’ friendly in tough times but after elections, they took sudden U-turn which resulted in considerable escalation of trouble time for the community which kept on expecting much awaited justice for the last seven decades but their plight remained the same. Several parties arrived and departed during the course of time and scores of their candidates were made `kings’ just because PoK DPs voted for them to power. Now, we have decided to move ahead with principle of `as you sow, so shall you reap’ . This time we will be decisive one as PoK DPs have made up their mind to show opportunistic parties their place “, Chuni maintained.
He further said that top leadership of RSS was recently in the State for its conclave. Several Sangh Pracharak were approached to listen to problems of the PoK DPs who are still living in camps but the RSS leadership ruthlessly turned down our request. “We wanted to meet them, apprise them of ground realities of PoK DPs and about their inhumane conditions but they did not turn up. The leaders of this organization turned hostile towards PoK DPs as none of the Sangh Pracharak arrived to listen us. It is very unfortunate that RSS like Hindu organization that proclaims itself top most Hindu organization has not thought about the well being for the most impoverished community of the world”, he added.
VK Datta, Prof JS Mangal, Prof NN Sharma, Roshan Malhotra, Gurdev Singh, Tilak Raj Sethi, Tarvinder Singh, Parmod Ghai, Gurmeet Singh and Vijay Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
