RAJOURI, Dec 7: SOS International, an organization of displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that DPs from PoJK would give a befitting response to the Union and State Government for playing joke with them for offering package.
Chairman of SOS International, Rajiv Chuni and other prominent speakers while speaking in a large meeting of DP families at Dalogra in Rajouri today launched scathing attack on Modi Government at Delhi and also BJP-PDP coalition for making mockery of their one time settlement. They unanimously rejected the package and called it a `cruel joke’ with them by the Central and State Governments.
The speakers alleged that the package is apparently meant for Kashmir only and there is nothing for PoK DPs in the package. While offering full cooperation to SOS International Chairman, Rajiv Chuni, the delegates said that every member among the DPs, is ready to give any sacrifice for the justice. They said DPs had high hopes from Modi but he also proved as hostile to PoK DPs as he announced only Rs 2000 crores instead of proposed Rs 9096 crores by previous State Cabinet of NC-Congress Coalition.
Mr Chuni reminded that Modi during his Hiranagar rally vowed to solve all pending issues of PoK DPs once he comes to power but after winning elections, Modi ditched PoK DPs” he said.
He said the State president of BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma also stated that Government is seriously considering the package moreover, Government is considering to elevate the package of Rs 25 lakhs recommended by previous State Government to Rs 40 lakhs per family but it has proven just a ridiculous statement from the MP of Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha constituency.
Mr Chuni further added that in 1994, Lok Sabha had passed a resolution which stated that J&K is an integral part of India. He said that without discussing and involving the plights of PoK DPs, the resolution is incomplete. He demanded that an Inter-ministerial committee must be set up that will visit and see the plight of DPs who are living in various parts of Jammu in pitiable condition.
Prominent speakers included Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Harbans Sabharwal, Kewal Sharma, Capt Ravinder Kumar, Sharda Devi, Subash Sharma (Retd. ADC), Vijay Guru, Lekh Raj, Rajinder Sharma, Harjeet Singh, Jagdish Sharma, Ram Avtar, Sat Paul and others.
