RAJOURI, Mar 27: SOS International organized a rally today at Lamberi, tehsil Nowshera.
The motive behind the rally was to know the general opinion of PoK DPs regarding notification issued by Government in terms of package.
Thousands of life members of SOS International attended the rally and unanimously rejected the terms set by Government. The PoK DPs totally marked their disagreement to conditions set by Government and called it deceptive and politically motivated.
While addressing the rally, Chairman, SOS International, Rajiv Chuni called the conditions set by Government as complete nonsense. He further said that all the efforts are being applied to deviate struggle of PoK DPs but PoK DPs wouldn’t budge from their firm stand as they have fought for their legitimate rights.
He said that Government has issued notification via Deputy Commissioner, Jammu to seek suggestions and changes but the designate authority that deals with matter of PoK DPs 1947 is Provincial Rehabilitation Officer (PRO), adding that SOS International has no problem with that but conditions set in the notification are quite weird which bring the intention of Government under scanner whether it is committed to provide relief or not.
The displaced community of PoK DPs urged Government to waive-off creepy conditions like PRC, Aadhar Card, Affidavit, Ration Card and other bizarre ones, so that a sense of relief can be brought into the souls of PoK DPs, Chuni alleged.
Chuni appealed to all PoK DPs to get united to launch a final struggle to get their rights.
Every speaker in the rally categorically stated that they won’t accept a single penny less than Rs 25 lakhs. They further said that 11 conditions set up by Government are beyond the reach of every individual to fulfill them and hence, no PoK DP will get a single penny as per present conditions arbitrarily incorporated in notification.
Others who also spoke were Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Sharda Devi, Capt Ravinder Kumar, Shiv Kimar, Rajinder Sharma, Capt SN Randhawa, OP Khajuria, Tarvinder Singh, Vinay Sharma, Sanjay Kumari and VK Dutta.
