RAJOURI, Feb 16:  The SOS  International- an organisation for PoK Displaced Persons today organized a rally of PoK Displaced Persons here today.
A large  number of  PoK DPs  attended the rally and raised their voice against the discriminatory  approach of Government of adopting dilly-delaying tactics towards their genuine demands. Several PoK DPs  expressed their anguish against Union and State Governments over the delay being caused in the settlement package which was sent to Central Government for implementation.
While addressing rally, chairman of the organization, Rajiv Chuni condemned the  Central Government for its attitude and said that  PoK DPs are being cheated by BJP Government at the Centre.  “Central Government in Delhi under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is paying no heed to the problems of PoK DPs  as it is showing no interest to redress the genuine demands of  refugees who have been living in miserable life since 1947”, Chuni said.
He further said that BJP before elections vowed to address the demands of PoK Displaced Persons but after more than 9 months of Government formation in New Delhi, Modi Government seems have no mood to look into the matter of PoK DPs. “During general elections, Mr  Modi in his Hiranagar rally promised to solve the problems of PoK DPs and moreover in BJP’s election manifesto, 4 points were mentioned for J&K and PoK DPs permanent settlement package was one of them but after 9 months nothing is visible on ground,” he added.
Chuni said  that  during Assembly elections PoK DPs  voted  in favour of BJP wholeheartedly as they have large vote share in several Assembly seats, adding that BJP in J&K first time in the history have won 25 seats and PoK DPs played an important role for this big win. “Before Assembly elections, BJP vowed to take initiative for the permanent settlement of PoK DPs and in upcoming days, new Government of BJP-PDP will be formed and PoK Displaced Persons permanent settlement package must be the first priority in Common Minimum Programme of next Government”,  Mr Chuni stated.
Prominent who spoke in the rally were Lalit Kumar, Roshan Lal, Kewal Krishan, Badri Nath, Randhir Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Shiv Kumar and Capt  Ravinder Kumar.
