JAMMU, Feb 16: Seeking release of pending DA, 6th Pay Commission arrears and highlighting other demands, members of All J&K State Pensioners Association held a protest demonstration, here today, under the leadership of Raj Kumar Basnathia.
A number of pensioners and senior citizen took part in the protest demonstration. Raising slogans in support of their demands, they urged the Governor N N Vohra to do the needful, as assured by him a few days earlier.
Madan Lal Abrol, general secretary of the State Pensioners Association, strongly condemned the Government for not providing the DA and medical allowance and enhanced pension to the senior pensioners at the age of 80, 85, 90, 95 and above 100 on the Central pattern.
Those who attended the demonstration, included Jagdish Dogra, Jagdish Sharma, Kali Dass, Mohd Shafi, Yash Pal Sanson, Joginder Singh, Mulkh Raj, Puran Chand Khajuria and Bhushan Pargal.
