JAMMU, Sept 10: To lodge protest against non-implementation of the financial package, sanctioned by the Government of India, Jammu and Kashmir PoJK Refugee Front today held a dharna in front of Provincial Rehabilitation Officer’s office Jammu.
Led by Rachpal Singh Chib, the protesting refugees raised slogans against PRO Jammu and in support of their demand for implementation of the relief package.
While addressing the dharna, Mr Chib said that on recommendation of National Human Rights Commission, the Government of India conveyed approval for the grant of rehabilitation relief to the uprooted families from PoK but the same was not provided to the refugees.
The Front leader announced that the dharna would continue till the PRO Jammu implements the package. He also appealed the Government of J&K to look into the reasons for not implementing the package.
