JAMMU, Feb 28: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) in collaboration with Akhil Bhartiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha, Jammu Kashmir Zone and MASAHARA (Confedration of Social Organisations) organised a “Kavi Goshthi” in Jammu to pay tich tribute to the great legend of Jammu Lala Hans Raj Mahajan.
SK Jain Yogaacharya and known Hindi poet presided over the function, while the stage was shared by Ram Langar, Advocate PS. Chandel, Ganesh Singh Bijoria, Tilak Raj and Dogra Harish Kaila. Dr Parshotam Kumar conducted the proceedings.
The poets who participated included- Ashok Kumar, Ram Paul Dogra, Shambhu Ram “Payasa” , Ajeet Jasyal, Rakesh Langer, Madan Lal Sharma, Surinder Bindiwala, Arun Kumar Bajaj, Sanjeev Bhasin, Dr Purshotam Kumar, Pawan Khahjuria, Duggar Di Khak Fayyaz Dogra, Rajiv Sharma and SK Jain.
Ram Langar spoke on life and works of late Lala Hans Raj Mahajan and described him a great visionary man.
SK Jain described Lala Hans Raj Mahajan a great social reformer who loved his people and the native land, Duggar.
He said that he intelligently appreciated the diversified ethenic character of Duggar and laid the foundation of Dogra Sadar Sabha with an aim to bring all shades of people under one umbrella.
Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila lauded his role in getting Science College established in Jammu and his efforts to get a Sabha established for every section of the society for unification and great cause.
Ganesh Singh Bijoria remembered his contributions to stop child marriage and to encourage widow marriage.
Advocate PS.Chandel appreciated Lala Ji for establishing Ved Mandir for care and education of orphans.
Tilak Raj in his address described Lala Hans Raj Mahajan a mentor of poor, down trodden and deprived sections of society. He further said that as an Advocate and then as a legislator he worked for the common masses. Vote of thanks was extended by Ram Langar.
