JAMMU, Dec 19: Pt Prem Nath Memorial Trust (PNBMT) in its meeting here held under the chairmanship of Dr A N Pandita urged the Government to pass the much talked about Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill in the coming budget session of the State Legislature.
The meeting expressed the hope that all political parties will ensure their unanimous support to the Bill as all the individual MLAs whom the Trust members met from time to time have assured their full support to the Bill and constitution of Board for the protection of the shrines and temples in Valley which are the heritage centers and whose protection and upkeep is must for the posterity.
The Spokesman of the Trust, Dr R L Bhat said that as a mark of protest for the first time in the 27 year long exile the Pandits will observe Chetna Diwas on road side at Jagti township amidst the community members on December 27 against those forces who are trying to sabotage the proposed Bill.
He said the Trust is committed to passage of the Bill as it has full mandate of the community in this regard and it will take the struggle launched in 2011 in this connection to logical conclusion. He appealed the KP community to be united on the issue and also cautioned them against those elements who try to create a division within community.
