PNBMT expresses concern over encroachment of shrines land

JAMMU, Mar 31: Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) held a meeting of its Executive members and some prominent community leaders in Swami Atma Ram Vedanta Ashram Tomal Bohri today in which grave concern was expressed over encroachment of land of religious places in Kashmir.
A. K. Raina vice president AIKS and Kashmiri Lal Bhat patron of PNBMT presented detailed report on the replies filed by respective District Development Commissioners in response to the objections filed by the battery of lawyers in High Court of J& K. Deliberating on the issue the members expressed their dismay over the report and demanded that status of the temples and Hindu religious places should be compared with the revenue records of 1960.
Trust has initiated to engage a battery of learned and experienced revenue officials to scrutinise the revenue records of all districts of Kashmir as per revenue records of 1960. Moreover the Trust reiterated its pristine demand for passage of much awaited Preservation and Protection of Shrines and Temples Bill.
The meeting was presided over by R. L. Pandita chairman of the Trust and was attended by Kuldeep Raina president Kashmir Sudar Samaj , Dr. R. L. Bhat a well known intellectual and writer, Hira Lal Bhat Seh Prabhari BJP KDD, M. L. Malla senior KP leader, S. L. Koul general secretary PNBMT, Dr Ramesh Bhat president Shrines & Temples Committee Tral – Awantipora, C. L. Pandita, Bansi Lal Zar, Bimal Wantoo, Bihari Lal Zar, Naveen Handoo, Pran Nath Razdan, H.L.Jad , Ramesh Marhatta and Dr. Sunil Bhat all executive members of the Trust.
