PNBMT asks community to remain steadfast for passage of Shrines Bill

JAMMU, Nov 4: The Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) today convened a meeting at Patoli Brahmana, aimed at apprising KP community about the activities of the Trust during the past year.
The meeting was presided over by Mohan Lal Bhat, a senior community leader of the area.
Sundri Lal Koul, secretary of the Trust, presented an account of the activities of PNBMT over the past year. He outlined the sustained efforts made by the Trust in advocating for the protection and preservation of the ancient temples and shrines of Kashmir, which form an integral part of the civilizational and cultural identity of KPs.
Virender Raina, chief spokesperson of the Trust, elaborated on various ongoing initiatives including the systematic collection of data on temples and shrines in the Valley, strengthening cooperation with temple trust members and stakeholders in Kashmir, and engaging with the leadership across political and social spheres including a recent meeting with the Chief Minister.
He also highlighted the follow-up on developmental activities at Jagti Township and other migrant settlements, reflecting the Trust’s commitment to holistic community upliftment.
C.L. Pandita, Deputy Chairman of the Trust, expressed deep appreciation to the MLA from Ramban for having presented a Bill in the recently concluded session of the Assembly for the protection and preservation of temples and shrines in Kashmir. He remarked that although the Bill could not be taken up due to paucity of time, the very initiative underscores the growing consciousness across political lines about the urgent need for such legislation.
Advocate Kashmiri Lal, in his address, exhorted the community to remain steadfast and united in their efforts for the passage of the Temples and Shrines Bill. He said that the day is not far when this long-pending demand will become a reality. Paying rich tributes to Martyr Pandit Prem Nath Bhat, he said that the Trust stands as a living tribute to his supreme sacrifice.
Other prominent speakers who addressed the gathering included Dr. M.K. Bharat, Nana Ji Raina, C.L. Bhat, Chaman Lal Bhat, Omkar Nath, Satish Pandita, Ramesh Raina, and Prediman Krishan Raina,
Prominent Trust members who attended the meeting included Roshan Lal Pandita, M.K. Jalali, Shiban Bhat, Bansi Lal Zar, Bihari Lal Zar, Ramesh Marhatta, among others.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Chairman of Trust Roshan Lal Pandita.
