JAMMU, May 28: Punjab National Bank (PNB) today organised Kissan Credit Card (KCC) disbursement function at Arnia.
The function was inaugurated by Mohd Latif Mir, Deputy General Manager, Circle Head, J&K Operations, in which over 72 KCC with a credit outplay of Rs 1.03 crore were distributed to the farmers of Bishnah and Arnia.
ML Mir in his address gave broader outline of KCC scheme aimed at providing adequate and timely support from the banking system to the farmers for their short-term credit needs.
He said that every eligible farmer will be given KCC by the bank. He advised them to conduct their KCC account as per the scheme so that the effective interest rate comes down to 4 per cent, the cheapest credit available from banking system. He added that apart from meeting farm needs, KCC can also be utilized to meet consumption need by the farmers.
AK Mota, Chief Manager, Circle Office Jammu, SS Chib, District Coordinator, JS Saini, Senior Manager, Arnia branch, Rakesh Kumar and Manoj Kumar, Agriculture Managers of the Bank, Sarpanch Raghuveer Singh and large number of beneficiaries were also present.
