* People had started reaching Chowgan Ground in Kishtwar, the venue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally, right from 8 am even as he was scheduled to address the rally around 12 noon.
* All roads leading to Kishtwar had been choked with vehicles leading to Chowgan Ground disrupting normal vehicular movement and business till late this afternoon even after the rally was over at 1.15 pm.
* Authorities had deployed about 5000 para-military and police personnel in different parts of Kishtwar for making fool-proof security arrangements for the visit of Modi, which was his first election rally for the Assembly elections.
* People from several villages continued to ring up the BJP leaders seeking buses or other modes of conveyance to reach the rally venue but there were no vehicles left in the town for people. The normal transport was also not available for the people to reach the venue of the rally.
* The rally passed off peacefully with no untoward incident reported from any part of sensitive Kishtwar town.
* Entire Kishtwar town had been turned saffron with flags of BJP and posters of Narendra Modi right up to the rally venue.
* In the absence of transport in small town of Kishtwar, a large number of people were seen trekking long distance on foot to listen to Modi.
* Modi reached the rally venue at 12.25 pm and for next eight minutes, the crowd went restless shouting and chanting “Modi, Modi’’ and jostling with each other to have a glimpse of the Prime Minister.
Modi waved to the crowd on all four sides after which the crowd relented.
* Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh spoke for 4 minutes after which the Prime Minister addressed the rally for about 35 minutes. During address of Modi, the crowd continued to shout slogans eulogizing Modi repeatedly.
* BJP’s all six candidates from Chenab Valley including Sunil Sharma (Kishtwar), Tariq Keen (Inderwal), Dileep Singh Parihar (Bhaderwah), Shakti Parihar (Doda), Showkat Daing (Banihal) and Neelam Langeh (Ramban) were present at the rally.
* The Prime Minister landed at the Technical Airport and flew to Kishtwar. At Technical Airport, he was received by BJP leaders including Jugal Kishore, state president, Ashok Khajuria, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta, party’s three candidates from City—Kavinder Gupta (Gandhi Nagar), Rajesh Gupta (East) and Sat Sharma CA (West), Shamsher Singh, Vikram Randhawa and Manmohan Choudhary.
