PM’s package offers nothing to border dwellers: Jan

POONCH, Nov 15: Youth National Conference president, Jammu, Ajaz Jan, today criticized the much hyped Prime Minister’s package, saying it offers nothing to border dwellers who have been suffering due to incessant shelling.
Interacting with people during his visit to Sawjian, which remained the target of shelling several weeks ago, Mr Jan said that the people who have been suffering deserve a better deal, which however has not found any favour from the PDP-BJP Coalition Government.
He also lamented over ignoring the Mughal Road. He said the blue print of Loran-Tangmarg Road was formulated in the Government led by Omar Abdullah, with an allocation of Rs 2 crores for marking the alignment but now the PDP is projecting it as its own conception. “People can differentiate between the real work and gimmickry”, he said and cautioned the coalition Government not to test the patience of the people and instead concentrate on development, which is being seen nowhere. He said the road network in Pir Panchal, Poonch-Rajouri and remote pockets of Kathua have altogether been ignored.
Later, Mr Jan visited the residence of locals whose houses have suffered damages due to recent earthquake. He regretted over the callousness of the Government saying nobody has visited them so far.
Those, who accompanied Ajaz Jan, included Peer Anyat Bukhari, Bag Hussain Rathore, Shamsheer Haqla, Ab Ahad Bhatt, Ab Ahad Kamrate, Ishaq Khan, Saleem Khari, Amcla Lone, Sai Rashid, Kh Ab Jabar Tantary, Khalil Lone, Bashir Mir, Imtaz Banday, Mohd Afsal, Hamid Malik, Ghulam Rasool, Gh Mohd Sheikh, Mohd Rafiq Lone, Aslam Sheikh, Ishaq Bhatt, Shabir Ahmed Bhatt, Ghulam Qader Tantary and Mohd Ashraf Sheikh.
