PM to lay foundation stone of Pakal Dul Project today

JAMMU, May 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of the biggest Pakal Dul Hydro Electric Project tomorrow.
Addressing a press conference, M Y Khan, Chairman, Chenab Valley Power Projects (CVPP) said that this power project will be the biggest project in the Jammu and Kashmir. This is also first storage project in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.
Apart from Pakal Dul Power Project, CVPP is also starting Keru Hydro Electric Project and Kwar Hydro Electric Project by the end of this year, Khan said, adding that they are creating history in the hydro sector by starting these three power projects in one year.
“In J&K, there is lot of scope as we can produce 20000 MW power, but unfortunately nothing could be happened in the past some years”, he said, adding that with the coming up of CVPP in J&K and starting of these three project, J&K will be surplus in power.
