PM package employees denied salaries, migrants seek Governor’s intervention

JAMMU, Mar 18: The PM package employees serving in Kashmir Valley are without salaries for months together. The family members of these employees have expressed concern over the callousness of the State administration which has not released the salaries of these employees so far.
They said some package employees are without salaries for last four months while others were not paid the salaries for last two months. Even the salaries were not released by the authorities on the festival of Maha Shivratri early this month despite the appeal of many community leaders to the heads of respective departments.
Expressing serious concern over the plight of the PM package employees NC Minority Cell president, M K Yogi and TRT Buta Nagar president, Ashok Dhar and social activist and ex Sarpanch Nana Ji Raina said that administration has deliberately denied the salaries of the employees despite the transfer of funds by Central Government in this regard to Relief and Rehabilitation Department of the State Government. They demanded a probe that why the salaries are not being paid in time to these hapless employees who are facing many other problems like lack of accommodation, water and power crisis in the migrant camps where they are putting up in Valley.
They have made an appeal to State Governor in this regard and sought his immediate intervention in the matter besides action against those officers who are deliberately creating problems to the package employee in Valley.
