NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed sadness at the terror attack in London and said India would stand by United Kingdom at this juncture.
“Deeply saddened by the terror attack in London. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” Mr Modi said in a tweet.
“At this difficult moment, India stands with UK in the fight against terrorism,” Prime Minister said.
In her tweet, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said, “Indian High Commission is there to help all Indian nationals in London. Please note the Telephone no.s : 020 8629 5950 & 020 7632 3035”.
In another series of tweets, Prime Minister paid tributes to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary. “His (Lohia’s) thoughts on social empowerment & service continue to inspire us,” Prime Minister said.
In another message, Mr Modi said, “Remembering Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev on the day of their martyrdom. India will never forget their courage & sacrifice.”
Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar also condemned the terror strike in Britain and said such acts have no place in a civilised world. “India stands by Britain at this juncture. Such terror acts should be condemned by all,” Mr Kumar said. (AGENCIES)
