PM, CM committed to agenda of peace, development: Hamid

JAMMU, Aug 23: Accusing opposition of ganging up against the Coalition Government for its vested interests and exploiting sentiments of people, PDP leader Abdul Hamid Choudhary today alleged that the opposition leaders after having added fuel to fire in Kashmir valley for weeks together, went to union capital for photo opportunities with President of Indian and Prime Minister.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have specifically spelled out their priorities viz-a-viz Jammu and Kashmir and are committed to carry forward late Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed’s agenda of peace and development,” he said in a statement.
Hamid Choudhary further said that cycle of violence in the state has caused irreparable loss to several families and pushed the development of State towards wall where works have come to stand still, education suffered, tourism badly hit, children confined indoors and social engagements cancelled. “Now that there has been a decline in violence, fire stands ceased, situation is being reviewed periodically, curfew in several parts relaxed and telecommunication services restored; efforts must be put into revive normal activities and peace brought back on rails,” he added.
